Golden Hour Sessions

 

Lighting is everything in Photography

 

Golden hour is the hour just after sunrise and before sunset when the sun sits low in the sky and the light becomes especially beautiful. It is the most flattering natural light that give your photos that soft glow. Factors like crowds, location, and seasons will affect when the sessions would start.


For reference, the worst time to photograph is mid-day, when the sun is right above you, casting dark shadows on your faces and making you squint.

Look Good, Feel Good

Coordinate your Outfits

Most importantly you want to look good for your photos and feel comfortable in them. Decide on your outfits together so that they don't clash or look too busy next to each other. Going with neutral colors is always a safe bet! A good rule of thumb is not to wear too many patterns and colors. Also, mind your footwear, wear location-appropriate shoes or bring alternatives for your comfort.

The more personal the shoot, the better. An activity-based session tends to feel more relaxing and comfortable since there's something you'll be doing. Whether it's getting matching tattoos, biking around Central Park, going to the Mets Stadium, whatever is in line with who you are as people and as a couple is always more fun (for all of us!). It could even be as simple as going to your first date location, or bringing donuts to a picnic.
